PCW has now officially gone to hell.

On Saturday night, Mike Foxx became the first-ever five-time PCW World Heavyweight Champion when he beat Franco D'Angelo.  Being Mike Foxx, though, he had plenty of help.  If this were the Academy Awards, his acceptance speech would go something like this.

Thanks to the Busseys.  Ever since D'Angelo won both the World Heavyweight and Television Titles at Genocide '08, the owners of PCW have forced D'Angelo to defend both belts in the same night every week.  I think the Busseys had it in for "The Beast" because he beat their golden boy, Brett Idol, for the TV belt in that four-way match.  That, I believe, is more of a factor than any alliance with Foxx and his Faithful, since Foxx isn't exactly a team player, unless he's heading the team.

Thanks to Apocalypse.  The man who tries to back up his claims to being the "Best in the World" by claiming victories each week against big-name wrestlers who just happen to be dead (this week: John "Earthquake" Tenta) seemed to uncharacteristically lose it against Franco, though there is a history between the two going back to D'Angelo's ultimately-failed alliance with the Dark Circle.  Without Apoc's vicious attack with his title belt opening up "The Beast," D'Angelo might have been a lot closer to 100 percent for his match later against Foxx.

Thanks to the Faithful, including new member James Johnson, who has left his happy-go-lucky "Jiggle-O" persona far behind to become Foxx's "Angel of Misery."  Alongside fellow Faithful recruit "Angel of Wrath" Mace, Johnson adds another dimension to Foxx's brood, like it or not.  When you have the physical involvement of those two, along with the distractions provided by Katie Angel and "Angel of Mercy" Claudia (conspicuous by her absence, for whatever reason), not to mention the pro-Foxx yammerings of Kody Kox at the commentary desk, a referee has to have eyes in the back of his head, and any opponent of Foxx has to be prepared to face opposition from all parts of the arena.

Finally, I'm sure Foxx would thank D'Angelo for being gutsy enough to show up for his match, despite the loss of blood and equilibrium from earlier in the night.  For Foxx, all that did was prolong D'Angelo's agony, leading to Franco passing out from blood loss while in Foxx's new submission move, called the STMF.  Note that D'Angelo did not tap; he fought to the very end.

Foxx and the Faithful may have gone one up on the rest of PCW now, but there is a signpost up ahead, leading to Capital Punishment on May 31.  Now, it will be Foxx who puts the belt on the line on that night against ... the Human Highlight Reel, Homicidal, Suicidal, Genocidal Sabu!  If anyone is immune to the intimidation of Foxx and the Faithful, it's the man who carries scars on his body from every corner of the globe.  I don't see Sabu backing down one millimeter from Foxx.  Get ready for a war!

Speaking of war, one good thing the Busseys did Saturday night was sign a tag team match for Capital Punishment between Mace & Johnson and Action Jackson & Wally Darkmon.  Jackson and Darkmon have both suffered from physical and emotional scarring the last few weeks as they were assaulted by the men they once considered their best friends.  Foxx needs to make sure his men are prepared, because street fighter Jackson and the unpredictable Darkmon will hit the ring ready to take no prisoners.

Who would have expected Matthew Palmer to get himself a PCW title match this early in his career?  He can count the number of matches he's had in PCW on one hand, yet he's the one who will challenge Robert Evans for the PCW World Cruiserweight Title at Capital Punishment.  Evans tried to take it upon himself to make sure he didn't have a challenger for that upcoming match, but it seemed to backfire on him as Palmer got the pin on the champion as Evans suplexed Aaron Eagle.  Can Palmer ride his newfound momentum to an improbable title win?

The less said about the Busseys' giant wiener, the better.  They just seem to be overcompensating a bit too much as Thomas prepares to battle Brandon Collins in a Submission Match at Capital Punishment.

Say what you will about Brett Idol, but he's as talented as anybody I've ever seen in PCW, and he's got a chance to prove it on a global scale.  He will be going on tour in Spain within the next few weeks, provided he comes out of his Capital Punishment battle with TNA Rockstar Lance Hoyt unscathed.  J.T. LaMotta recently toured Japan, and I have to believe that more doors will be opened for PCW stars as the word gets out about the quality of talent on our roster.

Who do you pick in the Foxx-Sabu CP matchup?  Let me know at robmoorePCW@hotmail.com, along with anything else you want to say about PCW.  I'll look forward to hearing from you.  Thanks for visiting, and I'll see you at the arena!
